William R. "Bill" Reilson

William R. "Bill" Reilson, age 81 of Alhambra, IL, died Wednesday, March 09, 2016, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. He was born on Thursday, November 22, 1934, in Highland, IL, the son of William N. and Lucille A. (nee Smith) Reilson. On Saturday, February 20, 1954, he married Marion L. Reilson nee Guentensberger who survives. He was a member of United Church of Christ of Marine. He was also a member of Madison County Farm Bureau, Labor Local 397-Edwardsville, IL. William was born in Highland and grew up on the family farm north of Marine. He was a graduate of Highland High School - 1953. After high school, he farmed south of Marine, raising beef cattle and farming grain. He moved to Alhambra in 1979 and continued to raise cattle and farm grain. He also worked as a Laborer out of Local 397 in Edwardsville, IL. He retired 2000 and moved northwest of Marine. In his retirement, he worked for Madison Service Corporation as a "Tender Truck Driver" for 10 years. He enjoyed traveling to the western states, his favorite was Yellowstone. He and his wife spent winter months in the valley of Texas. He loved old western movies and was a big NASCAR fan. He enjoyed reading history and western books. Survivors include: Wife - Marion L. Italiano (Died 9/19/2014) Grandchild - Erin Marie Reilson (Died 10/13/2000 at age 16) Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Monday, March 14, 2016, at the funeral home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 14, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL., with Rev. Philip H. Kershner, officiating. Interment will be at Marine Cemetery in Marine, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society; Gravius Memorial Library in Marine; Meals on Wheels.
