Paul N. Voss

Paul N. Voss, age 71 of Highland, IL, died Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Highland, IL. He was born on Monday, September 10, 1951, in Breese, IL, the son of Leander and Eleanor (nee Book) Voss. On Saturday, January 6, 1973, he married Rae Lynn (nee Herzberg) Voss at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL, who survives. He was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL. Paul was born at Breese, IL, and graduated from St. Paul High School, Highland, in 1969. He attended tech school at University of Illinois and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from SIUE. He worked for the State of Illinois as a Civil Engineer for over 32 years. In his retirement he was a independent consultant, for Jacobs Engineer Service for over 10 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed travelling to the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls, cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Fan. He enjoyed watching Jeopardy on TV, yard work and gardening. Once he completely retired in 2012, he enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture. He was a handyman, who enjoyed taking care of his home and helping his neighbors. Survivors include: Wife - Rae Lynn (nee Herzberg) Voss, Highland, IL Son - Andrew P. Voss, Belleville, IL Brother-In-Law - Thomas Auer - Died 5/2/2007 Brother-In-Law - Kenneth Thole - Died 4/18/1998. Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Saint Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL, with Rev. Pat G. Jakel, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL.
