Marita (Marty) J. Ringering

Marita “Marty” J. Ringering, age 84 of Highland, IL, died Monday, February 24, 2025, at Breese Caring First Nursing Home in Breese, IL. She was born on Tuesday, December 3, 1940, in Breese, IL, daughter of Robert and Alvina (nee Heldorfer) VonAlst. On Sunday, February 17, 1980, she married Bernard "Bernie" Ringering at Highland, IL, who passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2006. Marty has been a lifelong resident in the Highland area. She retired in 2000 from being a self-employed craft shop owner. She also taught tole painting for 19 years and worked with the Highland Animal Shelter for 15 years because of her love of animals. She was a member of Pocahontas United Methodist Church, and she was a founding member of the Junior Women's Club of Highland (now called Highland Women's Club). Marty requests no flowers or plants, but memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project.
