Marie Reker

Marie Edna (Hartlieb) Reker, age 75, of Saint Jacob, IL., died Sunday, August 26, 2007, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL. She was born June 19, 1932, in Jamestown, IL., the daughter of Orville and Louise (Kapp) Hartlieb. On September 20, 1952, she married Harold L. Reker, who survives. She was a member of United Church of Christ of Marine-Marine, IL. Marie was born south of Jamestown, IL and grew up there. She graduated as valedictorian from Breese High School in 1949. She worked at Highland Box Co. for 2 1/2 years prior to her marriage. After she was married, she and her husband operated a grain and beef farm in the Marine/St. Jacob area. She was a former Sunday School Superintendent and taught Sunday School for 12 years at her church. She also served four years on the Church Council. She enjoyed dancing to Polkas and Waltzes. She was an avid baker, and enjoyed mushroom hunting, quilting, gardening and spending time with her family. Survivors include Husband-Harold L. Reker of Saint Jacob, Ill., Daughter-Darlene M. (Sam) Weber of Highland, Ill., Grandchild-Jeannie M. (Dan) Sommer of Freeburg, Ill., Grandchild-Sarah R. Nagel of Highland, Ill., Grandchild-Dawn M. (friend Evan Trainer) Kelley of St. Louis, Mo., Grandchild-Daniel L. (fiancee Allie Spies) Kelley of Belleville, Ill., Grandchild-Kristen J. Kelley of Saint Jacob, Ill., Grandchild-Kaitlyn R. Kelley of Saint Jacob, Ill., Grandchild-Melissa L. (fiance Kris Klaustermeier) Doty of Collinsville, Ill., Grandchild-Matthew W. Doty of Collinsville, Ill., Grandchild-Megan E.
