Marcella L. Parker

Marcella Lois (Basden) Parker, age 80, of Highland, IL., died Thursday, February 23, 2006, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO. She was born June 22, 1925, in Alton, IL., the daughter of James and Teckla (Holingshead) Basden. On August 15, 1942, she married Merle Clifford Parker , who passed away November 15, 1983. She was a member of First Baptist Church-Highland, IL. Following her marriage she lived in Alton; moved to Highland, IL in 1961. She was always a homemaker and a long time babysitter. She was a Babysitter for over 20 years for the Highland Christian Women\'s Club meetings; also babysat for area Bible Studies. She assisted her children by baby-sitting her grandchildren for many years. She was \"Super Grandma\" to them. Her husband had been a long-time employee of Illinois Power Company.
