Leto Wernle

Leto Wernle, age 95, of Marine, IL., died Saturday, September 20, 2008, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. He was born April 28, 1913, in Highland, IL., the son of Adolph and Ella (Plocher) Wernle. On June 26, 1949, he married LaVerne L.E. Wernle, nee Henke , who survives in Marine. Leto was born on a farm North of Highland and he attended Highland Schools. He worked at the Ketchup Factory in Collinsville, and later at Alton Box Board for over 30 years; and he retired at age 65. He raised chickens, pigeons, and rabbits. He enjoyed gardening, swimming, reading, watching baseball games, and collecting coins. He liked to ride his bike and scooter, and watching videos and DVD\'s. He was a member of United Church of Christ of Marine. He was also a member of Madison County Farm Bureau Former Church Brotherhood Paper Workers Union. Survivors include Wife-LaVerne L.E. Wernle, nee Henke of Marine, Ill., Daughter-Margo A. (Kenneth \"Mike) Cook of Troy, Ill., Daughter-Carla M. Wernle of Marine, Ill., Daughter-Connie L. Eckert of Troy, Ill., Daughter-Marsha K. (Anthony) Angaran of Mount Horeb, Wis., Grandchild-Aaron M. Wernle, Grandchild-Jennifer L. (Gregg) Ledbetter, Grandchild-Robbie Jo Eckert(Fiancee Mark Abramovs), Grandchild-Jaclyn C. Eckert, Grandchild-Dana J. Eckert, Grandchild-Steven M. Cook, Grandchild-Christina M. Cook, Grandchild-Brandon Angaran, Grandchild-Bryce Angaran (twin), Grandchild-Brooke Angaran (twin), Gr Grandchild-Kaylee Abramovs, Gr Grandchild-Declan Ledbetter, Gr Grandchild-Taylor M.
