Laurene A. Widman, nee Heim

Laurene Addie (nee Heim) Widman, age 98, of Highland, IL., died Monday, July 31, 2006, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL. She was born April 14, 1908, in Old Ripley, IL., the daughter of Henry and Annie (nee Moss) Heim. On February 12, 1930, she married Donald J. Widman, who preceded her in death on March 8, 1994. Mrs. Widman grew up in Old Ripley Township, Bond County, IL., and attended ILX Country School in Leef Township, Madison County, IL. She and her parents moved to east Grantfork, IL in Saline Township, Madison County, IL. She and her husband farmed east of Grantfork in Leef Township until moving to to Highland, IL after selling their farm in 1958. Mrs. Widman worked at Highland Supply Corporation for some 16 years retiring at age 65. She enjoyed playing Bingo, had participated in a bowling league for a number of years both at Highland and Grantfork. She had enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and working with her husband in the fields prior to moving to Highland. She enjoyed gardening and helping her son, Larry, with his garden. She was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL. Survivors include Son-Larry A. (Janet) Widman of Highland, Ill., Daughter-In-Law-Jean M. Widman of Highland, Ill., Grandson-Tim D. (Tina) Widman of Grantfork, Ill., Granddaughter-Brenda S. Hoiland of Fruitland, Wash., Granddaughter-Becky J. Widman of Highland, Ill., Grandson-Michael A. (Mary Ann) Widman of Highland, Ill., Granddaughter-Lana M. (Steve) Hawkins of Kalamazoo, Mich., Grandson-Matthew J. Widman of Highland, Ill., Great-grandson-Seth Hoiland of Fruitland, Wash., Great-granddaughter-Sarah Hoiland of Fruitland, Wash., Great-granddaughter-Megan A. Widman of Highland, Ill., Great-grandson-Mitchell A. Widman of Highland, Ill., Sister in-law-Betty Heim of Highland, Ill., Sister in-law-Violet Heim of Highland, Ill., Sister in-law-Delma Widman. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Son-Dale D. Widman (died 12/12/1996), Brother-Lester C. Heim (died 7/11/1984), Brother-Lloyd Heim (1/10/1985), Brother-Len W. Heim (3/4/1982), Brother-LeeVern Heim (died 1944), Brother-Millard Heim (died 9/4/04), Sister-Luvada Welchlen (died 12/2/02), Sister-Lucille Gansmann (8/19/1999).
