James I. Bucher

James Ignatius Bucher, J.D., age 81 of Marine, IL, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, MO. He was born July 31, 1931, in Dayton, OH, the son of Clement John and Agnes Honora (nee Cull) Bucher. On Saturday, November 27, 1954, he married Elizabeth Jean Hodapp who survives. He was a member of Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church in Marine, IL. James was born in Dayton, OH, and graduated from Chaminade High School in 1949. He served with the US Air Force from 1951-1955 with duty in Korea as a radio operator. He was also stationed at Scott Air Force Base. He attended University of Dayton and graduated in 1957. He then moved to St. Louis and graduated from St. Louis University School of Law in 1962. He worked for the IRS while attending Law School. After completing Law School he served as Prosecuting Attorney and Public Defender for City of St. Louis until retiring in 1992. He did Tax Accounting and Estate Planning until just recently. He enjoyed wood working and was an avid history buff, especially WW II, loved mushroom hunting, and restored antique cars. He currently has a 1937 Ford Coupe, that he has owned since 1964.
