James M. "Jim" Brave

James M. "Jim" Brave, age 55 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at his residence. He was born December 31, 1960, in Highland, IL, the son of Rolland and JoAnn (nee Zobrist) Brave. On October 04, 1985, he married Lisa J. Hug at Highland, Illinois. He was a former member of Highland Optimist Club. James was born in Highland, IL. He graduated from Highland High School in 1979. He attended SIU-E. He worked for Pamida Discount Center, Artex and Target. He started painting with his father-in-law at Keith Hug Painting in late 80's. He became an independent painter as Jim Brave Painting in mid 1990's, doing residential and commercial interior and exterior painting. He enjoyed fishing, camping and coaching his sons in baseball, basketball and football. He was an outstanding football player in High School, and (his team won Conference Championship 2 years). He enjoyed cooking and B.B.Q. and was a very good cook. He collected hats and miniature NASCAR. He was an awesome Dad who did everything for his sons. Survivors include : Wife - Lisa J. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 04, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Friday, August 05, 2016, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 05, 2016, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL., with Rev. Christopher W. Hill, officiating.
