Harry H. "Bud" Steinmann

Harry H. "Bud" Steinmann, age 79 of Hamel, IL, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at his residence in Hamel, IL. He was born on Thursday, July 26, 1934, in Worden, IL, the son of Walter and Bertha (nee Reising) Steinmann. On Sunday, June 09, 1968, he married Judy A. Steinmann nee Schroeder who survives. He was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Hamel, IL; a member of the Church Choir for 60 + Years; Church Trustee/Finance Committees. Harry was born and reared in Worden, IL. Harry joined the US Navy in 1955, with duties overseas aboard the USS Boxer. Harry worked for Suhre Gas Company and Cassen Transport as a truck driver. He worked for Steinmann trucking for many years as a truck driver, retiring in 2002; but he still worked part time until 2010 in the spring and summer helping his nephew. He enjoyed gardening, cutting grass, reading, and music. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include: Wife - Judy A. (Jenny) Steinmann, Hamel, IL Grandchild - Brynn Steinmann, Hamel, IL Grandchild - Caleb Steinmann, Hamel, IL Sister - Helen Hesterberg, Litchfield, IL Sister - Frieda (Leo) Maack, Collinsville, IL Sister - Wilma Renken, Bethalto, IL Sister - Ruth Sievers, Staunton, IL Sister - Norma "Toots" Steinmann, Hamel, IL Sister - Verna (LeRoy) Langendorf`, Hamel, IL Sister In-law - Lynn Steinmann, Hamel, IL Mother In-law - Erna Schroeder nee Gieselman, Sweet Springs, MO Brother In-law - Darold (Janet) Schroeder, Sycamore, IL Brother In-law - Harlan (Shirley) Schroeder, Sweet Springs, MO Brother In-law - Kent (Lois) Schroeder, Sweet Springs, MO Sister In-law - Joyce Childers, Sweet Springs, MO Nieces and Nephews - Several. He was preceded in death by: Father - Walter Steinmann Mother - Bertha Steinmann nee Reising Brother - Paul Steinmann died 11/26/2007 Father In-law - Clifford Schroeder died 7/2009. Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, April 18, 2014, at Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, at Saint Paul Lutheran School Gym in Hamel, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Saint Paul Lutheran School Gym in Hamel, IL., with Rev. Benjamin Ball, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Saint Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Hamel, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or St. Paul Lutheran School.
