Ellsworth F. Schwehr

Ellsworth F. \"John\" Schwehr, age 101, of Highland, IL., died Sunday, February 17, 2008, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL. He was born April 7, 1906, in Grantfork, IL., the son of Henry and Ida (nee Stoecklin) Schwehr. On July 7, 1934, at the Presbyterian Church, Greenville, IL, he married Willa R. Immer. She died January 25, 1951. On October 17, 1959, at the Evangelical & Reformed Church, he married Iola E. Bleisch, who survives. He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL. Mr. Schwehr was born in Saline Township, Madison County, Illinois; he grew up there on the family farm near Grantfork, IL. He grew up farming. Mr. Schwehr farmed until the fall of 1957 then he moved to Highland. In his early years he travelled the country shucking corn in the Lincoln, IL area and then later on picking oranges in California. He owned the Sealtest Delivery Distributorship for Highland. He operated the business and drove a milk truck delivering Sealtest Dairy Products to people\'s homes. He retired at age 65. He spent a lot of time at his cabin South East of Grantfork, he enjoyed gardening and tending his orchard. Survivors include Wife-Iola E. Schwehr , nee Bleisch of Highland, Ill., Daughter-Kay A. (Don) Reaka of Grantfork, Ill., Son In-law-Ed C. Teichert of Wilsonville, Ore., Grandaughter-Tami (David) Balin of Wilsonville, Ore., Grandsons-Tad (Suzann) Teichert of Harrisburg, Pa., Dave (Lynne) Reaka of Collinsville, Ill., Tim (Jill) Reaka of Highland, Ill., Mark (Heidi) Reaka of Highland, Ill., Len (Kristi) Reaka of Highland, Ill., Dan (Andi) Reaka of Edwardsville, Ill., Great Grandchildren-Jason Reaka, Samantha (Jeremiah) Burson, Katie Reaka, Tiffany Reaka, Mitch Reaka, Morgan Reaka, Cami Reaka, Cassi Reaka, Jacob Balin, Jessica Teichert, Step Great Grandchild-Katlyn Jenning, Great Great Grandchild-Wyatt Burson. He was preceded in death by Father-Henry F Schwehr, Mother-Ida (Stoecklin) Schwehr, 1st Wife-Willa (Immer) Schwehr (died 1/25/1951), Daughter-Lois R. Teichert (died 7/19/2007), Brother-Lionel Schwehr, Brother-Wilbur Schwehr, Brother-Clarence W. Schwehr, Brother-Stanley H. Schwehr, Brother-Harold A. \"Jim\" Schwehr, Brother-Henry E. Schwehr, and Sister-Marie Marguerite Oberbeck . Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.
