Ellen E. Gelly, age 83 of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL. She was born on Monday, April 02, 1934, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Robert and Milda (nee Reinacher) Bargetzi. On Sunday, June 06, 1954, she married Leonard C. "Bud" Gelly at St. Jacob, IL, who passed away on Thursday, May 14, 1998. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL. Mrs. Gelly was born at Highland, IL; she grew up in Highland. She graduated from Highland High School in 1952. Following graduation, she had attended business school in St. Louis. After her marriage, she and her husband lived south of Highland and farmed. She had helped operate the farm for many years. She had done house cleaning for many years. She worked for Faith Countryside Homes Nursing Center for 7 years. She was a very good bowler; had bowled with the Wednesday Night Bowling League at Poplar Junction for over 30 years.
