Edwin "Ed" M. Frisse

Edwin M. Frisse, age 93 of Highland, IL, died Thursday, December 03, 2015, at Faith Care Center in Highland, IL. He was born January 04, 1922, in Highland, IL, the son of John and Mary (nee Walsh) Frisse Sr. On June 01, 1946, he married Elaine Ruth Apken who survives. He was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church. He was also a member of Chairman of the Board Highland Machine and Screw Products Co.;Former VP of Tri-Onics;Chairman of Highland Spring and Specialty; Former 1st National Bank Board of Directors;St. Joseph Hospital Foundation former Board Member;Hall of Fame with Highland Area Alumni Assoc;Former St. Paul Parish Trustee and School Board Trustee;Highland Knights of Columbus #1510;Lee Iten American Legion Post #439;Highland VFW Post #5694;Highland Area Community Foundation;Former President of St. Vincent dePaul Society;Highland Alumni Hall of Fame;Recipient of Highland Chamber of Commerce Bob Hardy Award;Big supporter of St. Paul Catholic Church, Kirchenfest, and Mater Dei High School. Edwin was born in Highland and a graduate of St. Paul High School in 1940. He joined the US Army during WW II with duty in Europe with the 11th Armored Division and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. When he returned to Highland he worked for Spengel Furniture Store. He started at Highland Machine in 1946 as a bookkeeper. He eventually purchased the business and still went to his office 6 days a week until 2 months ago. Ed was a successful businessman who was generous and mentored many people. He enjoyed his lawn, garden and loved being outdoors. He played Bridge on a club for close to 50 years. Frisse, St. Louis, MO Brother - Norbert "Butch" (Joann) Frisse, Edwardsville, IL He was preceded in death by : Father - John Joseph Frisse Sr. Mother - Mary E. Frisse nee Walsh Brother - Alvin Frisse Sister - Margaret Hellrung Sister - Dorothy Schmidt Brother - John J. Frisse Jr. died 2/27/2010 Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 06, 2015, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM on Monday, December 07, 2015, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 07, 2015, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL., with Father Pat G. Jakel and Father David L. Peters officiating. Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Area Community Foundation or Friends of St. Joseph Hospital.
