Dorothy M. Meyers, age 94 of Highland (St. Jacob Twsp), IL, died Friday, June 24, 2016, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Highland, IL. She was born on Saturday, June 03, 1922, in Jefferson City, MO, the daughter of William and Georgia (nee Ware) Willmeno. On Wednesday, July 02, 1941, she married Rockford E. Meyers at St. Louis, MO, who passed away on Sunday, September 25, 1994. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, St. Jacob, IL; Ladies of St.James Catholic Church. Born and raised in Jefferson City, MO. After marriage Mr. and Mrs. Meyers moved to Granite City, IL and lived there until 1974. They moved to Highland, IL in 1974 and have lived in the same neighborhood since. She worked for White Rodgers Electric, St.Louis County (Afton) MO, for 35 years. She was an avid quilt maker and loved reading the St. Louis Post Dispatch and Highland News Leader. Survivors include: Son - James R. (Carol) Meyers, Saint Jacob, IL Daughter - Geraldine L. Take, Alhambra, IL Great Grandchild - Nicholas J. Meyers, Columbia, IL. She was preceded in death by: Father - William M. Willmeno Mother - Georgia M. Willmeno (nee Ware) Husband - Rockford E. Meyers (died 9/25/1994) Brother - Vincent W. Willmeno Sister - Emma L. Hutinger Brother - Jerome M. Willmeno. Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL., with Rev. Father Pat G. Jakel, pastor, St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL, officiating. Interment will be at Keystone Cemetery in Saint Jacob, IL.
