Dathel O. Davidson

Dathel Oletha (McCoy) Davidson, age 86, of Highland, IL., died Monday, February 4, 2008, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. She was born September 14, 1921, in Hornbeak, TN., the daughter of Robert and Maggie (Kirk) McCoy. On October 21, 1950, she married William C. Davidson, who survives. Mrs. Davidson was born in Tennessee and lived the first 36 years of her life there. She had worked at the old Milan Arsenal and also had farmed for several years prior to moving to Illinois. She and her husband moved to Illinois 50 years ago and lived in Granite City for a number of years. The also lived in East Saint Louis, Troy and then Cahokia (for 22 years) prior to moving to Highland some 7 years ago. She had worked for over 15 years for the old Melbourne Purse Factory in St. Louis - retiring form there at age 62. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers; quilting and Crocheting; and doing crafts. She had volunteered at Mrs. Santa\'s Shop in Cahokia redoing Christmas and Easter toys for the needy; she also volunteered at the Food Pantry in Cahokia. Survivors include Husband-William Charlie Davidson Sr. of Highland, Ill., Daughter-Martha Jo (Larry) Rayshell of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Son-William C. (Sherry) Davidson Jr. of Roxana, Ill., Son-Bobby G. (Cheryl) Davidson of Highland, Ill., Brother-Robert \"Snoots\" McCoy of Marston, Mo., Grandchild-Dawn Marie (Chad) Mueller of Illinois, Grandchild-Pennie (Greg) Ferguson, Grandchild-Terri Reeves(Fiance-Jim Holland), Grandchild-Sandy (Greg) Brooks, Grandchild-Billy (Joann) Davidson, Grandchild-Tony (Barbi) Davidson, Great Grandchild-Jodie Campbell, Great Grandchild-Jessie Blair, Great Grandchild-T.J. Neal, Great Grandchild-Madison Brooks, Great Grandchild-Mallorie Davidson, Great Grandchild-Mackenzie Davidson, Great Grandchild-Anthony Davidson, Great Grandchild-Matthew Davidson, Great Grandchild-Rachel Davidson, Gr-Gr-Grandchild-Andrew Neal, Gr-Gr-Grandchild-Logan Neal She was preceded in death by Father-Robert McCoy, Mother-Maggie M. McCoy, nee Kirk, Sister-Sally Simmons, Brother-Alvin McCoy, Brother-Gabe McCoy, Brother-Ted McCoy, Brother-Jenk McCoy, Former Husband-Raymond Pugh (divorced) Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.
