Charles H. Zurliene

Charles H. Zurliene, age 79, of Pierron, IL., died Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Saint Luke\'s Hospital-West in Chesterfield, MO. He was born November 18, 1926, in Aviston, IL., the son of Joseph and Theresa (Ottensmeier) Zurliene. On April 28, 1953, he married Margie A. Zurliene, nee Frey , who survives. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; Trustee of the church; former Member of Summerfield Lions Club; Prairie Farms Dairy; and Pierron Improvement Club. He was born in Aviston and grew up on the family farm. His parents passed away when he was age 11. He served in the U.S. Army from Sept. 1950 until August 1952 w/ a tour of duty in Germany as a medic. After his service in the Army , he worked at Alton Box Corporation in Highland; then, in 1953, began to farm at Lebanon., IL. He and his family moved to Pierron in 1970 and started a dairy farm which he operated for over 30 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church; a Trustee of the church. He enjoyed his family and grandchildren. Survivors include Wife-Margie A. Zurliene, nee Frey of Pierron, Ill., Daughter-Cindy T. (Orville) Knebel of Pocahontas, Ill., Son-Richard C.\"Rick\" (Ruth) Zurliene of Pocahontas, Ill., Son-Del G. (Carol) Zurliene of Pocahontas, Ill., Son-Gary J. (Mitzi) Zurliene of Pocahontas, Ill., Daughter-Kathy A. (Clayton) (Zurliene) Fisher of Highland, Ill., Grandchildren-Jene\' K. Knebel, Tyler J. Knebel, Eric C. Zurliene, Amy R. Zurliene, Austin R. Zurliene, Julie M. (Zach) Heeren, Jennifer L. Zurliene, Jamie N. Zurliene, Curtis G. Zurliene, Ryan C. Zurliene, Amber L.(Fiancee Adam Markus) Zurliene, Ashley A. Zurliene, Wendy J. Zurliene, Taylor A. Fisher, Alex J. Fisher, Brother-Ferd Zurliene of Trenton, Ill., Sister-Josie Potthast of Highland, Ill., Sister-In-Law-Irene Zurliene, Sister-In-Law-Florence Zurliene, Sister-In-Law-Mary Zurliene. She was preceded in death by Mother-Theresa Zurliene, nee Ottensmeier, Father-Joseph Zurliene, Brother-Theodore Zurliene, Brother-Otto Zurliene, Brother-Joseph Zurliene, Sister-Louise Haselhorst, Sister-Loretta Stimson, Brother-In-Law-Greg Haselhorst, Brother-In-Law-Claude Stimson, and Brother-In-Law-Norbert Potthast.
