Bernell M. Weis

Bernell M. Weis, age 82, of Highland, IL., died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at his residence in Highland, IL. He was born August 1, 1925, in Highland, IL., the son of Frank and Rose (Essenpreis) Weis. On February 2, 1956, he married Martha M. Weis, nee Schumacher at St. Rose Catholic Church who survives. Mr. Weis was born on August 1, 1925, in the farm house built by his father, Frank, and Uncles in Marine Township. He took over the family grain and livestock farm and for the next 82 years he shaped, developed, and expanded the farm to it\'s current 554 acres. He passed away in that same house, home for 82 years, surrounded by his loving family. His spirit lives on at the farm that he loved and devoted his life to. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from March 1954 to December 1955 as Harbor Craft Boatswain. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Parish. He was also a member of Marine Sportman\'s Club, Helvetia Sharpshooters Society, Madison County Soil and Water Conservation, Past Member - Marine Fire Dept. (25 years), Board Member of Marine Township. Survivors include Wife-Martha M. Weis, nee Schumacher of Highland, Ill., Daughter-Mary Jo (David) Daniels of Highland, Ill., Daughter-Karen R. (Joseph) Parrinello of Millbrook, N.Y., Son-Michael B. (Nicole) Weis of Aurora, Colo., Daughter-Trudy A. (Bill) Luchini of Highland, Ill., Daughter-Staci L. (Dave) Sefcik of Chicago, Ill., Son-Ryan M.
