Amelia Kampwerth

Amelia A. (nee Wessel) Kampwerth, age 87, of Highland, IL., died Thursday, January 31, 2008, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL. She was born July 13, 1920, in St. Rose, IL., the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (nee Ratermann) Wessel. On January 6, 1942, she married Benedict G. Kampwerth, who passed away July 21, 1994. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL;St. Anne Altar Society; VFW Post 5694, Ladies Auxilary; Weinheimer Senior Citizens. Born near St. Rose, IL and grew up on a farm there. She attended St. Rose Catholic School. She and her husband farmed near Pierron; in 1949 farmed East of Highland and retired in 1980. She enjoyed quilting for church, card club (Euchre and Rummey), bingo, made quilts for all her grandchildren, was a great baker, proud of her 16 children and enjoyed reading. (Bill) Voss of Aviston, Ill., Daughter-Janet M. (Ferd) Mueller of Germantown, Ill., Daughter-Karen M. (Robert) Obernuefemann of Troy, Ill., Daughter-Marilyn M. (Paul) Georgy of Crystal Lake, Ill., Daughter-Diane J. (Douglas) Giger of Marine, Ill., Daughter-Elaine H. (Gary) Haake of Breese, Ill., Daughter-Sue Ann (Michael) Bast of Grantfork, Ill., Daughter-Sandy I. (Daniel) Grapperhaus of Collinsville, Ill., Daughter-Angela M. (Brian) Petermeyer of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Son In-law-Roger Voss of Breese, Ill., Brother-Arnold T. In addition, she is survied by 46 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Father-Henry Wessel, Mother-Elizabeth Wessel, Husband-Benedict G. Kampwerth (died 7/21/1994), Daughter-Phyllis Voss (died 7/02/2002), Brother-Vincent Wessel, Brother-Leonard Wessel, Brother-Lawrence Wessel, Sister-Margaret Rickelmann and Sister-Helen Frey.
