Alvin A. Wildhaber

Alvin Albert Wildhaber, age 82, of Highland, IL., died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. He was born November 21, 1924, in Highland, IL., the son of Albert and Regina (Bircher) Wildhaber. On August 26, 1944, he married Melba E. Pfister, who passed away August 19, 1994. Mr. Wildhaber was born at Highland, IL. He attended Steinkoenig School west of Highland and helped on the farm. He served with the US Army with duty in Japan. After the service he farmed, and worked as a laborer for Local 100, then for Illinois Power, where he worked for 28 years, retiring in the mid-80\'s. He lived in Old Ripley, IL, lived in Troy, IL from 1957-1996, Highland from 1996-2001, returned to Troy and moved back to Highland in 2005. Mr. Wildhaber \"never saw a car he didn\'t like\". He enjoyed his pipe and a Stag beer and loved his dogs. He especially enjoyed his 1936 Ford Coupe and restored a number of cars. He was a hard worker who was always willing to help others. He was also a member of VFW Post 5694; Woodmen of the World #105; Laborer Local #100, East St. Louis; and a former member of Southern Illinois Street Rod Association. (Noni) Wildhaber of Saint Jacob, Ill., Son-Jimmie W. (Donna) Wildhaber of Edwardsville, Ill., Grandchild-Julie A. (Larry) Marlinghaus, Grandchild-Jeff S. Gross, Grandchild-Lisa K. (John) Healea, Grandchild-Jerome L. (Jennifer) Wildhaber, Jr., Grandchild-Lynette R. (fiance Josh Wiesler) Wildhaber, Grandchild-Tammy W. (Allan) Gieseking, Grandchild-Dana E. (Jason) Bohnenstiehl, Gr Grandchild-Lauren E. Marlinghaus, Gr Grandchild-Ross J. Healea, Gr Grandchild-Scott T. Gross, Gr Grandchild-Erica A. Marlinghaus, Gr Grandchild-Travis A.
