Wilda L. Kelso

Wilda L. Kelso, age 88 of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at Alhambra Care Center in Alhambra, IL. She was born December 15, 1932, in East Saint Louis, IL, the daughter of Willard and Jennie (nee Cornwall) Hamilton. On August 22, 1953, she married Nolan Arnold Kelso in East Saint Louis, IL. He passed away on March 02, 2017. She was a member of some Square Dancing groups in the area and a former member of Peace Lutheran Church, Hollister, MO. Wilda Lee was born in East St. Louis, IL and grew up there. She worked at Southwestern Bell, which later became AT&T. She married Nolan A. Kelso in 1953 and they resided in Highland, IL until their retirement in 1978. She and her husband then moved to Arkansas and lived in Mountain Home, Bella Vista and Omaha, Arkansas. In retirement, she enjoyed camping, fishing, square-dancing and wintering in Arizona for many years. She also enjoyed visits to Silver Dollar City at Branson, MO. They moved back to Highland in 2014. Hamilton - Died 7/08/1938 Mother - Jennie M. "Jinx" Hamilton, nee Cornwall - Died 10/06/1973 Husband - Nolan A. Kelso - Died 3/02/2017 Brother - Willard E. Hamilton - Died 2/16/2019 Sister - Wilma White - Died 6/20/2004 Brother In-Law - Eugene Kelso - Died 2018 Brother In-Law - Landon C. Kelso - Died 3/26/2010 Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Private Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.
