Theresa M. Buchmiller, age 77 of Highland, IL, died Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Aviston Countryside Manor in Aviston, IL. She was born on Friday, July 14, 1944, in Saint Rose, IL, the daughter of Bernard L. and Rosalia T. (nee Strieker) Schumacher. On Saturday, May 13, 1967, she married Valentine C. "Val" Buchmiller at St. Rose Catholic Church-St.Rose, IL, who passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL. Theresa was born at St. Rose, IL and grew up on the family farm west of St. Rose. She was a 1962 graduate of Mater Dei High School. She had worked briefly as a receptionist for a local veterinarian; and was part of the "Monday Crew" for the Shoppers Review for many years. .She also did retail promotions at stores in the area. Theresa was an excellent cook and baker. She was very devoted to her religion, praying the Rosary several times a day, offering special prayers to the Blessed Mother daily and very active in the Perpetual Adoration at St. Joseph Hospital-Highland. Theresa enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren, especially dominos. For many years she assisted her husband with his stained-glass business. Survivors include: Daughter - Jill C. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL, with Rev. Fr. Pat G. Jakel, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul School Educational Foundation or Mater Dei High School.
