Terry M. Lancey, age 75 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, August 05, 2014, at Deceased's Residence in Highland, IL. He was born on Wednesday, March 29, 1939, in East Saint Louis, IL, the son of Edward M. and Gladys M. (nee Keraghan) Lancey. On Friday, November 28, 1958, he married Virginia L. Lancey (nee Chappell) who survives. He was a member of the Highland Sportsman Club; Highland Moose Lodge #2479; Masonic Lodge #583 A.F. and A.M.,(Masons), Highland, IL; former member of Ainad Temple. A.A.O.N.O.M.S. (Shriners), E. St. Louis, IL; GCIU Local #38N-St. Louis. Terry was born at E. St. Louis; graduated from E. St. Louis Senior High School in 1957. He worked at Majestic Theater in high school. In 1956, he started working for St. Louis Post Dispatch. In 1968, he moved to Highland with his family and began working for the Wall Street Journal and retired at age 59. While working at the Wall Street Journal he drove a school bus for 20 years. He also drove for Steve Schmitt Chevrolet. He was an avid Baseball Cardinals and Football Rams fan. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and liked to go fishing. Survivors include: Wife - Virginia L. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 09, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Christopher W. Hill, Senior Pastor, Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.
