Linette B. "Nettie" Siever, age 103 of Highland, IL, died Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Breese Caring First Nursing Home in Breese, IL. She was born on Friday, October 24, 1919, in Granite City, IL, the daughter of Harold and Hazel (nee Koch) Gnaegy. On Saturday, February 9, 1946, she married Kenneth L. Siever at the Evangelical & Reformed Church, who passed away on Thursday, February 9, 1989. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. Linette was born in Granite City, IL. She lived there for a few years before moving to St. Louis, Mo. She started school in St. Louis, Mo and then moved to Highland, IL. After high school she worked at Highland Supply. Linette learned to fly a Piper Cub, finishing her training but not taking her solo test. She loved playing golf and fishing. She enjoyed all types of sports, especially golf and watching the Cardinals. Survived by her children: Andrea Siever Spengel of Willis, TX Brian K. (Margie) Siever of Phoenix, AZ Carl L. (Jill) Siever of Highland, IL Dale H. (Tammy) Siever of Chandler, AZ Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren are as follows: Erin (Bob) Foster and their children Mikayla & Keira Stephanie (Scott) Schoenherr and their children, Isabella & Alexandra Timothy (Laura) Spengel and their children, John & Wyatt Nathan Spengel Kyle (Jen) Siever and son Adam Trent (Jen) Siever Geoffrey Siever Christine (Scott) Toenyes Elizabeth (Nathan) Whipple and their children, Sophie & Savannah Jason (Stephanie) Siever and their children London & Asher Braiden (Kelsey) Siever Kirstin (Adrian) Siever-Olmos She was preceded in death by: Husband of 43 years, Kenneth Lewis Siever Father - Harold Charles Gnaegy Mother - Hazel Josephine (nee Koch) Gnaegy Sister - Theda Gruenenfelder Brother - Charles Gnaegy (infant) Son-In-Law - John Henry Spengel Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL. Funeral Service will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL, with Rev. William E. Kapp, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical United Church of Christ or American Heart Association.
