Henrietta L. Knebel, age 95 of Highland, IL, died Monday, June 27, 2022, at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, IL. She was born on Tuesday, March 15, 1927, in Jamestown, IL, the daughter of Henry and Louise (nee Neumann) Strotheide. On Saturday, August 23, 1947, she married Nelson J. Knebel at St. Paul Catholic Church, who passed away on Sunday, February 02, 2003. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church and Madison County Farm Bureau. She was born March 15, 1927, in Clinton County, near Jamestown, IL., the daughter of Henry and Louise (Neumann) Strotheide. Mrs. Knebel graduated Highland High School in 1945, then worked at Moulton-Bartley Shoe Factory for several years prior to her marriage. She married Nelson J. Knebel on August 23, 1947 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL. After their marriage, they moved Northeast of Highland, then in 1956, to the family farm South of town to operate a dairy, livestock and grain farm. She enjoyed gardening, particularly flowers, cooking and baking, traveling to Europe, Mexico, Alaska and all over the US, especially Las Vegas. She especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include: Daughter - Jane E. (Gerald) Thole, Highland, IL Daughter - Nancy A. (John) Bossler, Highland, IL Daughter - Mary L. (Andy) Keiser Grandchild - Eric L. (Liz) Frohn Grandchild - Melissa M. Bossler Grandchild - Craig S. Bossler Great Grandchild - Daniel R. (Katheryn) Whitlow Great Grandchild - Jenna Bellm Great Grandchild - Kaiden M. Keiser Great Grandchild - Tony Knebel Great Grandchild - Evan Knebel Great Great Grandchild - Mitchell Whitlow Great Great Grandchild - Winston Whitlow Nieces & Nephews - Numerous. Memorial Service will be at 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Fr. Pat. G.
