Zelda T. Donnelly

Zelda T. Donnelly, age 86 of Saint Jacob, IL, died Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, MO. She was born on Sunday, December 08, 1929, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Albert and Edna (nee Scheyer) Hundsdorfer. On Saturday, April 25, 1953, she married Glen T. Donnelly at St. Jacob, IL, who passed away on Wednesday, August 07, 2013. She was a former member of Troy United Methodist Church; St. Jacob United Church of Christ. Zelda was born in Highland, grew up on Deck's Prairie Northwest of Highland. She moved to St. Jacob in 1936. She was a 1948 graduate of St. Jacob High School. In 1950's, she worked for Moulton-Bartley Shoe Factory in Highland; and a shoe factory in Trenton. She devoted her life to her husband and daughter. Zelda had collected 100's Salt and Pepper shakers. She was a big Elvis Presley fan and collected his memorabilia. Zelda and Glen were always together, wherever they went, everyone recognized them because they wore cowboy hats and boots. Survivors include: Daughter - Sandra L. (Timothy) Roberson, Okawville, IL Grandchild - Jonathan L. Roberson, Okawville, IL Grandchild - Aaron L. (Elizabeth) Roberson, Lake Saint Louis, MO Sister In-law - Anne M. Hundsdorfer, nee Jacober, Highland, IL. She was preceded in death by: Father - Albert J. Hundsdorfer Died 8/31/1965 Mother - Edna Hundsdorfer Hug, nee Scheyer Died 9/14/1997 Husband - Glen T. Donnelly Died 8/7/2013 Brother - Vance A. Hundsdorfer Died 7/28/2000. Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, October 24, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL., with Rev. Gary Kniepkamp, Pastor, St. Jacob United Church of Christ, Saint Jacob, IL, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.
