Wilberta I. "Toots" Knebel

Wilberta I. "Toots" Knebel, age 87 of Pocahontas, IL, died Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Alhambra Care Center in Alhambra, IL. She was born January 16, 1931, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Wilbert and Ida (nee Gilomen) Reinacher. On August 27, 1949, she married Glenn A. Knebel at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL. He passed away on July 19, 1995. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pierron, IL. She was also a member of Pierron Improvement Club and St. Mary's Altar Society. Mrs. Knebel was born near Highland in Marine Township. She grew up on Deck's Prairie north west of Highland where she attended Case Country School. She worked at Moulton-Bartley Shoe Factory. After marriage, her and her husband farmed near Pocahontas; East of Highland; at Jamestown; and then moving to a farm north of Pierron in 1962. They did dairy farming, livestock and grain farming. She enjoyed working on the farm, helping son with his dairy farm, and she bowled for a number of years. Toots always had a garden and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pierron, IL, with Father Scott A. Snider officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Pierron, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, Heartland Hospice, or Highland Pierron Fire Dept.
