Vincent H. Ripperda

Vincent H. Ripperda, age 81, of Highland, IL., died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL. He was born September 22, 1927, in Bartelso, IL., the son of William and Louise (Bach) Ripperda. On May 3, 1950, he married Elinor S. Ripperda nee Weiss , who survives. Born in Bartelso, IL. Worked at Trenton Shoe Factory and joined U.S. Army in 1947. He married Elinor Selma Weiss at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland on May 3, 1950. He then farmed @ New Baden and worked at Stratmann Lumber. He also worked for Earl A. Kesner Fertilizer. Vince started a feed grinding business and later drove a truck for Kohlbrecher Trucking. In 2002 he retired, but in his retirement he worked at Rural King. Vince enjoyed gardening, dancing, farming, playing cards, hunting, mushroom hunting, his Pug dogs, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church - Highland, IL. He was also a member of Lee Iten American Legion Post 439@ Highland; Former Member of Knights of Columbus; Teamsters Local #50. Baumann of Highland, Ill., Grandchild-Wendy K. Klaus of Highland, Ill., Grandchild-Keith M. (Mandy) Ripperda of Sherman, Ill., Grandchild-Ted R. Klaus of Highland, Ill., Grandchild-Nicole L.
