Victoria M. Dunn

Victoria M. "Vicki" Dunn, age 87 of Highland, IL, died Monday, May 18, 2015, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Highland, IL. She was born on Wednesday, August 10, 1927, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of James and Catherine (nee Green) Vangelos. On Saturday, June 07, 1947, she married Charles J. Dunn who passed away on March 9, 1998. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL; former member of the Highland Country Club; Ladies Auxiliary - VFW Post 5694, Highland, IL. Vicky was born in St. Louis, Missouri, reared in the Maplewood neighborhood and attended Soldan High School. Following her graduation she had worked for Stix, Baer & Fuller in St. Louis, before and after her marriage. She quit working to rear her two children. After they were grown she worked for Highland Community Schools in food service. She worked for the food service until her retirement, November 12, 1991. Vicky was an avid golfer, spending many hours on the course with her husband, Chuck. The Dunn's had a backyard pool and many, many hours were spent at the pool. In later years, she enjoyed going out to eat with friends and driving to Bobbies Frozen Custard. In the summer of 2004 she moved to the Faith Countryside Homes - Apartments where she was always thankful for all of her friends. Many enjoyable hours were spent with friends during holidays and watching "Dancing With the Stars" on television. Survivors include: Brother - Allen J. (Mary) Vangelos, Laguna Niguel, CA Many - Nieces and Nephews Best Friend/Caregiver - Janet Kleinman, Highland, IL Best Friend/Care Giver - Sharon Dillow, Highland, IL She was preceded in death by: Father - James Vangelos Mother - Catherine (nee Green) Vangelos Husband - Charles J. Dunn (died 03/09/1998) Son - Thomas M. Dunn (died 12/01/2004) Daughter - Kathleen M. Dunn (died 09/15/1981) Brother - James Vangelos Brother - George Vangelos Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois.
