Thomas E. Crawford, Sr., age 71 of Highland, IL, died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Relais Bonne Eau in Edwardsville, IL. He was born on Sunday, December 17, 1939, in Granite City, IL, the son of David and Lessie (nee Gould) Crawford. On Saturday, June 25, 2005, he married Terry Lynn Crawford (nee Barger) who survives. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4183 Scott AFB, IL (Lifetime Member); Triple Lodge No. 835, Granite City, IL; The Shriners Rolling Nobles; A.A.O.N.O.M.S. (Shriners); American Legion Post No. 0665; Amvets - Post IL 51; Venice Social Club - Pontoon Beach, IL; former member Bond-Madison County Water Department; former member Alton Eagles #254. Thomas was born at Granite City, IL; graduate of Granite City High School. He received his Bachelor while in the service. He served with the US Air Force from February 4, 1958 thru May 31, 1978. He received the Presidental Unit Citation , Meritorious Service Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal. He retired as Technical Sergeant (TSgt) from US Air Force. He continued working for the government in Civil Service and then was the Co-Owner and founder of CLR Group (Communication Company) for 10 years selling the company in February 2011. He lived in Highland since 1990. He also was a salesmen for Brockland Pontiac in St. Louis. Tom was a world traveler who touched many lives. He enjoyed participating in the parades riding his 3 wheelers for the Shriners to support the Shriners Childrens Hospital. He was a great story teller. He also enjoyed turkey shoots and horseback riding. Anyone who knew Tom knew he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather; his friendship was treasured by all. Survivors include: Wife - Terry L.
