Shirley M. Loomis

Loomis, age 75, of Highland, IL., died Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL. She was born September 13, 1934, in Highland, IL., the daughter of Harold and Hilda Margaret (nee Naab) Jackson. On May 30, 1956, she married Robert Loomis, Jr. , who survives. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Highland IL; and Class of 1952 Ladies Lunch Group. Mrs. Loomis was born at Highland; graduated from Highland High School 1952; after graduation worked for Old Judge Coffee in St. Louis; after daughter\'s birth she became a full time homemaker. Shirley and her mother enjoyed bowling together. Shirley liked stock car racing and annual trips to Branson. Enjoyed making crafts-tole painting; crossword puzzling and cards. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren were her priority. Survivors include Husband-Robert Loomis, Jr. of Highland, Ill., Son-Michael E. (Peggy) Loomis of Aviston, Ill., Daughter-Robin R. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, October 23, 2009, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Hope Lutheran Church, Highland, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Hope Lutheran Church in Highland, IL., with Rev. Leonard C. Laetsch, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Robinson Cemetery in Pocahontas, Ill. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
