Sharron A. Martinez, age 75 of Highland, IL, died Friday, September 30, 2016, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Highland, IL. She was born on Tuesday, October 15, 1940, in Greenbrier, MO, the daughter of William G. and Anna M. (nee Garner) Owens. On Monday, October 22, 1973, she married Fernando M. "Fred" "Joe" Martinez at Belleville, IL, who survives. She was a member of Parkinson's Support Group at Bond County Senior Center, Greenville, IL. Sharron was born and reared in Greenbrier, MO. She later moved to St. Louis in 1942. She was a 1959 graduate of Cahokia High School. She worked for Rawlings Sporting Goods in St. Louis as Executive Secretary for 10 years. She worked for Mallinckrodt Chemical in St. Louis. She moved to Highland in 1981. She loved to dance. She enjoyed reading newspapers, magazines and working crossword puzzles. She spoiled her daughter and grandchildren. She traveled to Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Italy, Paris, Wales, London, Puerto Vallarta and all 50 states including Hawaii. Trover, Belleville, IL Brother - William H. Owens, North Carolina, Sister - Marybelle Priddy, Marion, IL Sister - Janet (Joseph) Richardson, Sorento, IL Sister In-law - Sandy Owens, O'Fallon, IL. She was preceded in death by: Father - Rev. William G. Owens died 1978 Mother - Anna M. Owens nee Garner died 7/15/1991 Son - Glen "Dino" Hall died 12/25/1980 Son - Randall Hall - SIDS infant death Sister - Eula P. Bierwirth died 11/18/1995 Brother - Bernard Owens Brother - Carol "C.O." Owens Brother - Robert V. Owens Sister - Doris Trainum. Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Private Graveside Service will be Friday, October 07, 2016, at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL., with Rev. Dr. Billy Blackmon, Pastor, Highland Southern Baptist Church and Fr. Pat G. Jakel, Pastor, St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
