Rochelle A. Daiber

Rochelle Ann Daiber nee Arth, age 75 of Highland, IL, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at home, cared for by her husband and family, following 18 months of treatment for cancer which she endured with courage and grace. In the same manner as during her life, throughout her treatment and final days, she was more concerned about those around her than with herself. Her loving care for others and strong faith in God never ceased. She was born on September 19, 1937, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Arnold J and Gertrude V (nee Ambuehl) Arth. On November 26, 1955, she married Alvin John Daiber at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, IL. She graduated from McCraw Dewey High School in 1955. Rochelle and her husband made their home and farmed in rural Highland where she was a dedicated farm wife and mother of 12. After the children were reared and her husband retired from farming, they built a home in Highland and enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. She also worked began working part-time caring for elderly neighbors in their homes. She performed this labor of love with the same care and thoughtfulness that she did as a mother and grandmother. She helped with the boy scouts and was a \"Den Leader\". She also coached girls softball. Rochelle was firmly committed to prayer and prayed often by herself, with her husband, or with family and friends. She was a devoted member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Survivors include : Husband - Alvin J. Daiber, Highland, IL Son - Thomas A.
