Robert Reynolds Sr., SMSgt. USAF Retired, age 79 of Highland, IL, died Friday, November 08, 2013, at his residence. He was born July 25, 1934, in East St. Louis, IL, the son of John and Opal M. (nee Parnell) Reynolds . On January 01, 1959, he married Janet S Keim who survives in Highland. He was a member of VFW Post @ Scott Air Force Base. Robert was born in East St. Louis and at age 5, following his fathers death, he was sent to the VFW Children's Home in Lansing, MI. He was the Michigan Marble Champion and competed in the National Finals in Wyoming. At age 17 he enlisted in the US Army, and later re-enlisted with the US Air Force, retiring as Senior Master Sgt in 1960. He had duty during the Korean War. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Gosser-Artemis Garment Factory in Quality Control for over 7 years. In September of 1977 he moved to Highland. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, puttering around in his garage, and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include : Wife - Janet S. Reynolds nee Keim, Highland, IL Daughter - Deborah L. (Paul) Borger, Red Bud, IL Son - Robert ---- Reynolds , Jr., Highland, IL Son - Scott ---- Reynolds , New Douglas, IL Son - Brian (Stephanie) Reynolds , Breese, IL Grandchild - Stephanie (Scott) Kelly Grandchild - Joshua (Kristen) Borger Grandchild - Amanda ---- Borger-Braun Grandchild - Nicole (Nick) Otto Grandchild - Nastassia Rearden (significant other Russell Luciano) Grandchild - Bryan Reynolds Godchild - Robert Reynolds III Grandchild - Annie Reynolds Grandchild - Mary "Connie" Reynolds Grandchild - Rebecca "Katie" Reynolds Grandchild - Michael Reynolds Grandchild - Meghan Reynolds Grandchild - Brenden Reynolds Great Grandchildren - Many . Memorial funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Christopher W. Hill of Evangical United Church of Christ, officiating. Military Honors will be performed by Highland VFW Post #5694 and Lee Iten American Legion Post #439, both of Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or VFW Children's Home in Lansing Michigan.
