Robert W. Dugan Jr.

Robert William Dugan, Jr., age 88 of Alhambra, IL, died Friday, June 08, 2012, at Alhambra Care Center in Alhambra, IL. He was born December 10, 1923, in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Robert William and Ida (nee Humes) Dugan, Sr.. On February 05, 1949, he married Helen Katherine Haas who survives in Alhambra . He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ. He was also a member of Alhambra Community Club; VFW Post 5694 (chaplain for VFW) Highland, IL; American Legion Post 564 Worden IL; Madison County Commander American Legion; Chaplain for American Legion. Robert was born and grew up in Philadeplhia. After high school he entered the US Army serving in Africa and Sicily with the Signal Corps. Worked as Optician in Philidalphia, then worked for the Civil Service as a Computer Operator, and later as a Programer in St. Louis for the Logistic Command (ALMSA). He retired in 1981. In 1969 he and his family moved to Highland, and moved to Alhambra in 1978. He was very active in the VFW and American Legion Posts he belonged to. He enjoyed playing Bingo, collecting stamps, building model planes, and working at Worden Homecomings. Survivors include: Wife - Helen K.
