Robert J. "Bob" Boyer, age 77 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at San Gabriel Memory Care in Highland, IL. He was born on Wednesday, May 10, 1939, in Flat River, MO, the son of Joseph and Mary (nee Smith) Boyer. On February 19, 1959, at Union City, TN, he married Marilyn R. Simpson, who passed away February 28, 1997. On May 19, 2001, he married Sharon M. Smith (nee Bellm) who survives. He was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL, and Knights of Columbus, Council #1580-Highland, IL. He was born in Flat River, MO, and graduated from Desloge High School, Desloge, MO. He move to Highland in 1960 and began working for Pet Milk, Greenville, IL. In 1961, he began working for Basler Electric, Highland, IL, and retired after 44 years as a Material Control Supervisor. He enjoyed vacations to Florida, the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Team, walking at Silver Lake Park, bowling and playing cards at Hi Top Bowl and swimming in his swimming pool. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL., with Rev. Father Pat G. Jakel, pastor, Highland, IL officiating.
