Richard C. Eilers, age 62 of St. Rose, IL, died Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, IL. He was born on Sunday, July 17, 1949, in Highland, IL, the son of Robert T. and Rita M. (nee Woltering) Eilers. On Saturday, October 06, 1973, he married Elizabeth A. "Betty" Eilers (nee Thole) who survives. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Council #1580, Highland, IL. Born at Highland, IL; grew up south of Highland. Graduated from Highland High School in 1968. Served with the US Army from March 21, 1969 to March 12, 1971, in the Signal Corps with duty in Germany. He began working as a carpenter with his father; worked for Leslie Malanas as a hired hand. He worked as a carpenter most of his life. He enjoyed bowling, carpentry and woodworking.
