Richard H. Cook

Richard H. Cook, age 79 of Pierron, IL, died Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL. He was born April 10, 1936, in Jesse, WV, the son of Taylor and Rose (nee Woods) Cook. On April 14, 1973, he married Deborah A Zobrist who survives. Richard was born at Jesse, West Virginia; grew up there. He service in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960, and was stationed at Fort Bless, Texas and White Sands, New Mexico. He was honorably discharged at the rank of CPL as a Missle Crewman on July 27, 1960.In the early 1960's he moved to Highland and went to work for Artex International as a dye lab tech and retired in 2001. He enjoyed playing golf, playing softball in the VFW over 40 league, bowling, spending his Friday's off with his daughter, fishing, visiting his family in West Virginia every summer, and walking his best friend, a beagle named Buddy. Celebration of Life services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 09, 2015, at West Gate Baptist Church in Trenton, IL, with Rev. Paul Hooks officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Cook Family Cemetery in Jesse, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; Saint Joseph Hospital - Highland, IL or a Charity of Donor's Choice.
