Peggy J. Pierce

Peggy J. (nee Bess) Pierce, age 73, of Highland, IL., died Saturday, October 11, 2008, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL. She was born June 21, 1935, in Hillview, IL., the daughter of Leonard and Maxine E. (nee Mitchelle) Camp. On November 13, 1965, she married Wiliam D. \"Bill\" Pierce , who survives. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, Illinois and the Highland Country Club. Mrs. Pierce was born at Hillview, Illinois and grew up in several Central Illinois Communities. She moved to Highland, IL in 1963 where she worked in the Production Department at Basler Electric Company. She retired from there in 1977. In 1979, she and her husband moved to Chatham, IL; returning to Highland in 1986. Peggy was a good softball player in her youth; a competitive golfer, enjoyed bowling in both a mixed and ladies league; and she and her husband had enjoyed camping for many years. Peggy was a collector: she had a beenie baby collection; a clock collection; enjoyed having antiques; made and collected porcelain dolls; and enjoyed jewelry.
