Paul Steinmann

Paul Frederick Steinmann, age 81, of Hamel, IL., died Monday, November 26, 2007, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL. He was born November 9, 1926, in Hamel, IL., the son of Walter and Bertha Steinmann nee, Reising. Mr. Steinmann was born and raised in Hamel, IL. He served a 2 year tour in the Korean War. When he came back to Hamel, he bought William H. Langendorf Trucking Company, Hamel, IL; and changed the name to Steinmann Trucking Service, Hamel, IL. For 40 years he owned and operated the company, until 12 years ago he turned it over to his son. After retirement he worked part time at Jen\'s Classic Limo in Hamel, IL. On June 10, 1962, he married Carolyn \"Lynn\" Steinmann, nee Cowell , who survives. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #2910, St. Paul Lutheran Men\'s Club, and former member of the Church Choir. He served with many Boards at the Church, and was a former Board Member of Hamel State Bank, and was a retired Hamel Volunteer Fireman. Survivors include Wife-Carolyn \"Lynn\" Steinmann, nee Cowell of Hamel, Ill., Daughter-Debra S. \"Debbie\" (Phil) Conreaux of Edwardsville, Ill., Daughter-Dana L. (Keith) Rickert of Edwardsville, Ill., Son-David P. (Rebecca \"Becky\") Steinmann of Hamel, Ill., Grandchild-Stephanie Conreaux of Edwardsville, Ill., Grandchild-Phillip Conreaux of Edwardsville, Ill., Grandchild-Blake Conreaux of Edwardsville, Ill., Grandchild-Jodi Rickert of Edwardsville, Ill., Grandchild-Bradley Rickert of Edwardsville, Ill., Grandchild-Samantha Steinmann of Hamel, Ill., Grandchild-Elizabeth Steinmann of Hamel, Ill., Sister-Helen Hesterberg of Litchfield, Ill., Sister-Frieda (Leo) Maack of Collinsville, Ill., Sister-Wilma Renken of Bethalto, Ill., Sister-Ruth (Walter) Sievers of Staunton, Ill., Sister-Norma Steinmann of Hamel, Ill., Sister-Verna (LeRoy) Langendorf of Hamel, Ill., Brother-Harry \"Bud\" (Judy) Steinmann of Hamel, Ill. He was preceeded in death by his father Walter W. Steinmann, and his mother Bertha H. Steinmann, nee Reising. Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, Ill.
