Norma Jean Hartlieb, age 76 of Highland, IL, died Friday, June 10, 2022, at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in O'Fallon, IL. She was born on Friday, March 29, 1946, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Herbert and Olinda (nee Meyer) Sander. On Saturday, January 30, 1965, she married the love of her life Duane E. Hartlieb at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hamel, Illinois, who passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Highland, IL and Silver Creek Camping Association. She was born in Highland, IL, attended St. Paul Lutheran Grade School in Hamel, IL and graduated from Highland High School in 1963. She worked at Scott Air Force Base, Alton Box Board, Kayser Drug Store and Ben Franklin 5 & 10. Then she raised her children and later worked at SIU-E as an administrative assistant in multiple departments and retired in 2008. She loved gardening, canning, camping with family at lakes and campgrounds, her children and grandchildren sporting events, golfing, bowling and watching TV . Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Hope Lutheran Church in Highland, IL. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Hope Lutheran Church in Highland, IL, with Rev. Scott Busacker, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Hamel, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Animal Shelter or Hope Lutheran Church.
