Muriece K. Schwend, age 80 of Highland, IL, died Friday, August 31, 2018, at Faith Care Center in Highland, IL. She was born on Friday, October 29, 1937, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Robert and Lena (nee Hanser) Iberg. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and the EvUCC Women's Guild. Muriece was born and grew up on Deck's Prairie, in rural Highland. She graduated from Highland High School in 1955. She owned and operated Reban's Drive Inn, Highland, IL; later worked as a personal bank representative at Union Planters Bank, Highland. She retired as the manager of Highland Home, Highland, IL. She started the Kitchen Band at Highland Home and it has been very important to her through the years. She enjoyed dancing, helping people and being with family and friends. Luitjohan, Fort Collins, CO Great Grandchild - Wren Schuster, Pocahontas, IL Great Grandchild - Robin Schuster, Pocahontas, IL Sister - Marian H. Seitz, Greenville, IL. She was preceded in death by: Father - Robert A. Iberg - Died 9/24/1973 Mother - Lena M. Iberg, nee Hanser - Died 9/10/1968 Brother - Robert E. Iberg - Died 9/21/1973 Sister - Eileen E. Iberg Sister - Coreen L. Driemeyer - Died 4/4/2011. Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, September 03, 2018, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 04, 2018, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 04, 2018, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL, with Rev. Will VerDuin, Assoc. Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Home or Heartland Hospice.
