Mary L. Hosto

Mary L. Hosto, age 77 of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, IL. She was born June 03, 1939, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Homer and Lydia (nee Nielsen) Haller. On September 27, 1957, she married Arlen D. "Stonie" Hosto who passed away on June 03, 2004. She was a member of Grantfork United Church of Christ. She was also a former member of the Village Board in Grantfork. Mary was born and grew up in Highland. She was a graduate of Highland High School. After her marriage she raised her children as a stay home mom. She was very active at Grantfork United Church of Christ. She was active in many Bible Study Groups. She was also active in UFO's (United For Others) and Adams's and Eve's. She loved reading, doing puzzles, and tending her flower garden. She also played the organ and made greeting cards. Survivors include : Daughter - Marijane (Dave) Stahl, Greenville, IL Daughter - Barbara J. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Grantfork United Church of Christ in Grantfork, IL . Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Grantfork United Church of Christ, with Rev. Tim A. Darmour-Paul officiating. Interment will be at Grantfork U.C.C. Cemetery in Grantfork, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Grantfork United Church of Christ.
