Mary L. Haldi Korte

Mary L. Haldi Korte, age 89 of Highland, IL, died Monday, December 21, 2015, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Highland, IL. She was born December 06, 1926, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Albert and Hilda (nee Nagel) Tschannen. On June 2, 1945 she married Charles H. Haldi who passed away June 6, 1975. On December 29, 1979, she married Eugene B. "Gene" Korte who passed away on October 28, 2015. She was a member of First Congregational Church of Highland. She was also a member of Dorcas Fellowship and served as Secretary for many years. Mary was born and grew up in Highland, IL and graduated from Highland High School in 1944. She had worked for General American Life Insurance Co. and was a teller for the former First National Bank from 1975-1979. She was a Girl Scout Leader in the 1950's. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at First Congregational Church in Highland, IL. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at First Congregational Church in Highland, IL, with Rev. Greg S. Brady, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church or Highland Area Christian Service Ministry (HACSM).
