Marilyn L. Rickher, age 68 of Lady Lake, FL (formerly of Highland), died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Legacy Place in Highland, IL. She was born on Tuesday, March 26, 1946, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Robert J. and Elvira M. (nee Franz) Niggli. On Saturday, November 20, 1965, she married Larry C. Rickher who survives. She was a member of Southern Illinois Club of the Villages of Florida. She was a former member of Grantfork United Church of Christ. Marilyn was born at Highland; reared north of Grantfork on the family farm. She was a graduate of Highland High School in 1964; she attended Beautician School. She worked for Niala's Beauty Shop. She worked for Lincoln National Life Insurance in St. Louis, MO from 1967 to 1973. She stayed at home to rear her family. She worked at Farmers and Merchants Bank, Highland Savings and Loan, and Centier Bank in St. Louis, MO. She retired in 2003. Marilyn and her husband moved to Florida in 2012. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, bocce ball, shuffleboard, Po-Ke-No, and dancing while living in Florida. Survivors include: Husband - Larry C. Rickher, Lady Lake, FL Daughter - Bobbi L. (Steven) Etherton, Highland, IL Son - Michael L. (Friend Jimmy Glaenzer) Rickher, Highland, IL Grandchild - Kelsey L. Krump, Highland, IL Grandchild - Bree A. Etherton, Highland, IL Brother - Larry W. (Kathleen) Niggli, Highland, IL She was preceded in death by: Father - Robert J. Niggli (Died 12/25/2000) Mother - Elvira M. Niggli, nee Franz (Died 7/23/2009) Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 20, 2014, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Grantfork United Church of Christ in Grantfork, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Grantfork United Church of Christ in Grantfork, IL, with Rev. Tim A. Darmour-Paul, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; American Cancer Society.
