Marie C. Kruep

Marie C. (nee Henss) Kruep, age 91, of Highland, IL., died Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Faith Care Center/Faith Countryside Homes in Highland, IL. She was born March 28, 1918, in Trenton, IL., the daughter of Arnold and Frieda (nee Seger) Henss. On February 13, 1941, she married Vincent A. Kruep, who passed away April 26, 1997. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church; Stahl Post # 778 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary (Life Member)-Trenton, IL. Born on a farm northwest of Trenton; attended Pleasant Valley Country School and Saint Mary\'s Catholic School in Trenton; She worked on the family farm until her marriage when she and her husband moved to Highland. Mrs. Kruep and her husband owned and operated Vince and Marie\'s Tavern in Trenton from 1957 to 1970. They moved to Highland in 1971. She also worked at Highland Supply Hat Factory in Mascoutah and Welsch Baby Carriage Factory in Trenton. No matter how busy she was, she always had time to care for her mentally retarded son, \"Buddy\". She moved to the nursing home 2001. Mrs. Kruep enjoyed embroidery, quilting, sewing and following the baseball Cardinals. Mrs. Kruep was very close to her grandchildren. Troxell, Brandon M. Troxell, Jacob R. Troxell, Brock D. Troxell, Ethan C. Troxell, Alyssa M. Bitticks, John T. Bitticks, Sister-In-Law-Jane Henss of Trenton, Ill., Sister In-law-Wilma Henss of New Baden, Ill. She was preceded in death by Parents Frieda A. Henss nee Seger, died 11/24/1974, and Arnold Henry Henss, died 6/18/1972, Husband-Vincent A. Kruep, died 4/26/1997, Son-Vincent \"Buddy\" T. Kruep, died 8/25/2004, Brother-Arnold E. Henss, died 1/4/2007, Brother-Paul L. Henss, died 12/8/1950, Brother-Melvin F. Henss, died 10/27/1992, Sister-Margaret H. Henss, died 8/9/1991
