Marie A. Zobrist

Marie A. (Holtkoetter) Zobrist, age 92, of Highland, IL., died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Faith Care Center/Faith Countryside Homes in Highland, IL. She was born January 11, 1918, in Farmersville, IL., the daughter of Herman and Ella (Antenen) Holtkoetter. On September 22, 1937, she married Leon L. Zobrist, who passed away July 19, 1993. Marie was born in Pitman Twp. of Montgomery County, IL, near Farmersville. She moved to Highland at age 6, after her father\'s death. She had worked at Moulton Bartley Shoe Factory, Deutsch Bros. Egg Plant, and then at Basler Electric for 45 years. She and her husband also farmed, and they moved into Highland in 1952. She was a bookkeeper for Zobrist Trucking and Excuvation Co. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and taking care of her Mother-In-Law and her sightless Mother. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ-Highland, IL. She was also a member of Church Women\'s Guild; International Union of Electrical Workers Local 840. Survivors include Daughter-Jean Marie (Darrell) Rinderer of Highland, Ill., Daughter-In-Law-Marilyn L. Zobrist of Highland, Ill., Grandson-Jay J. (Spec. Friend Nicky Burke) Rinderer of Pierron, Ill., Grandson-Lee A. (Stacy) Zobrist of St. Louis, Mo., Granddaughter-Michelle R. (Sam) Perkins of Highland, Ill., Grandson-Travis L. (Aubrey) Zobrist of Highland, Ill., Grandson-Brad D. Kohlbrecher of Highland, Ill., Great-Granddaughter-Arielle N. Rinderer, Great-Granddaughter-Cali J. Rinderer, Great Grandchild-Cole A. Zobrist, Great Grandchild-Briea Jean Marie Perkins, Great Grandchild-Samuel Darrell Perkins, Niece-Sharon (Dennis) Rinderer of Highland, Ill., Niece-Jeanette (August) Mueller of Livingston, Ill. She was preceded in death by Father-Herman Holtkoetter, Mother-Ella J. Holtkoetter nee Antenen, Husband-Leon L. Zobrist died 7/19/1993, Son-Leonard I. \"Lenny\" Zobrist died 11/24/1987, Sister-Doris P. Becker died 9/26/2003, Brother-Irvin F. H. Holtkoetter died 7/12/2001, Sister-Wilma I. Henss died 11/15/1983, Niece-Jo Alice Holtkoetter died 10/18/2004 Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, Ill.
