She was born on Tuesday, April 15, 1919, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Arthur A. and Louise M. (nee Blum) Riggs. She was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL; former member of the First Presbyterian Church, Ocala, FL; Ocala Pinochle Club; Ocala Senior Citizens; Hope United Church of Christ, DeSoto, MO. Marie was born at Highland, IL. She graduated from Highland High School in 1936. She had worked for Moulton Bartley Shoe Corporation. She moved to DeSoto, MO in 1962, then to Bellevilew, Florida in 1988, and back to Highland in 2008. She enjoyed playing pinochle and traveling to Hawaii, the Bahamas twice and New York. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 14, 2015, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL, with Rev. Christopher W. Hill, Senior Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Charity of the Donor's Choice; Evangelical United Church of Christ or Highland Home.
