Margie F. Landmann

Margie F. Landmann, age 78 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, February 07, 2017, at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton, IL. She was born April 03, 1938, in Willow Springs, MO, the daughter of Luey and Hazle (nee Smelser) Wake. Margie was born and grew up in Willow Springs, MO. In her teenage years she worked at a laundry, cleaning Medical Uniforms. After her marriage she and her husband moved to Cape Girardeau and in 1957 moved to St. Louis where she was a stay-at-home Mother and Housewife. While her family grew, she and her husband and their children, sang Gospel and Country Music. They had performed at the Kiel Auditorium. After her divorce she moved her family to Highland in 1968. She worked at Chastains Nursing Home for 20 years, until her retirement. Margie loved growing flowers and vegetables and canning and preserving her bounty. She liked sewing, making clothes for her children and outfits for the family singing group. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
