Lucille R. "Lou" Willeford

Lucille R. "Lou" Willeford, age 90 of Highland, IL, passed away Thursday, August 01, 2019, at her daughter's home in Troy, IL. She was born on Saturday, July 06, 1929, in Pocahontas, IL, the daughter of Fritz and Irma (nee Knebel) Pfister. On Saturday, October 18, 1947, she married Robert Donald Willeford at Grantfork, IL, who passed away on Friday, May 13, 2005. She was a member of: Mt. Nebo Primative Baptist Church, Greenville, IL; Woodman of the World, Camp #105-Highland; I.U.E./Basler Machinist; Red Hat Ladies-Granite City. Lou was born at Pocahontas, IL on the family farm and grew up attending Millersburg County School. Following marriage, they moved to Highland and she worked at Moulton-Bartley Shoe Factory; later for Basler Electric from 1959 to her retirement in 1994. Six months later she started at Highland Wal-Mart as a greeter. She celebrated 25 years at Wal-Mart in July of 2019. She enjoyed crafts - coasters, greeting cards and had an annual craft show at her home. She liked to visit flea markets and thrift stores. She enjoyed going out to eat and collecting penguins. Kampwerth, Breese, IL Great Grandchild - Lincoln J. Kampwerth, Breese, IL Great Grandchild - Adalynn R. Meinhardt, Worden, IL Great Grandchild - Harper A. Tebbe, Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by: Father - Fritz Pfister, Jr. - Died 6/6/1974 Mother - Irma Helen Pfister, nee Knebel - Died 2/19/1965 Husband - Robert Donald Willeford - Died 05/13/2005 Son - Donald Lee "Donn" Willeford - Died 8/31/2018 Brother - Anton Fred Pfister - Died 2/2/1924 3 days old Brother - Earl J. Pfister - Died 10/25/1991 Sister - Melba Elizabeth Wildhaber - Died 8/19/1994. Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 07, 2019, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral Service will be at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 07, 2019, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. Funeral Procession will leave the funeral home Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM for a Graveside Service at the Highland City Cemetery, Highland, IL. Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery, Highland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Hoyleton Youth and Family Services or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
