Lloyd E. Willeford

Lloyd E. \"Eb\" Willeford, age 88, of Highland, IL., died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL. He was born November 24, 1919, in Greenville, IL., the son of John and Lydia (Collman) Willeford. On March 20, 1949, he married Ruby M Willeford, nee Landolt , who survives. Mr. Willeford was born west of Greenville on the family farm, while growing up, he attended Terrapin Ridge school and worked on the family farm. August of 1940, he and his brother joined the U.S. Army, while on active duty overseas he earned the Purple Heart twice and a Silver Star. He returned from the service in 1945, and worked for T.T. Eason Oil Company for 15 years, around this area and in Canada. The following 15 years, he drove a truck for M.C. Slater and Ryerson Steel. He and his wife then moved to Mesa, Arizona, where they went into business with the B.C. & M. Drilling Corporation, to drill for water. After 3 years they moved back to this area and he drove a truck for Horn Trucking in Highland for 20 years until he retired. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing and was a work -aholic. He was a member of Grantfork United Church of Christ. He was also a member of Life Member of the V.F.W. Post #5694 Highland, IL , Lee Iten American Legion Post #439 of Highland, and Member of Teamsters over 15 years. Survivors include Wife-Ruby M Willeford, nee Landolt of Highland, Ill., Son-Larry E. (Connie) Willeford of Alhambra, Ill., Daughter-Tami Kay (Michael) Frey of Pocahontas, Ill., Brother-Willard F. \"Bill\" (Maxine) Willeford of Greenville, Ill., Brother-Lawrence L. Willeford of Owensville, Mo., Brother-Ted E. (Betty) Willeford of Pocahontas, Ill., Grandchild-Wendy (friend Derek Gentry) Williams of Greenville, Ill., Grandchild-John (friend Robin Wise) Willeford of Wilsonville, Ill., Grandchild-Larry E. \"Ed\" (Christina) Willeford II of Sorento, Ill., Grandchild-Danielle (friend Phillip Markus) Frey of Aviston, Ill., Grandchild-Derek Frey of Pocahontas, Ill., Grandchild-Brooke Frey of Pocahontas, Ill., G-Grandchild-Chase Willeford, G-Grandchild-Cody Willeford, G-Grandchild-Dayan Willeford, G-Grandchild-Molly Durbin, G-Grandchild-Gracie Gentry He was preceeded in death by Mother-Lydia W. Willeford (DOD 5/13/05), Brother-Kenneth Willeford (DOD 7/1/02), Brother-Darrell L. Willeford (DOD 9/19/88), Sister-Mable L.
